Project Update: November 2006

I have just completed field work of habitat mapping of Gangetic dolphins and another proposed program i.e. Inter school Essay and Speech competition.

Field work was successfully conducted. It started from 20 th of October and ended in 18 th November of 2006.
During habitat mapping 5 dolphins were seen in three different spots. But it was really very tough job to take their photographs as they used come up in the water surface for only fraction of seconds. All the dolphin sighted points were recorded with the help of GPS. Habitat map will be prepared later using GIS software.

Similarly, for Inter school Essay/ Speech competition, students from 5 different schools were invited. Three
judges were invited to evaluate the competition and Assistant warden of Bardia National Park and Principal of Jagdamba secondary school were invited for chairmanship and chief guest of the program respectively. Three winner students i.e. 1st. 2nd and 3rd were awarded and all the participants were given a certificate.
