The project will focus on the practical involvement of women in the expanding or increasing the indigenous plants materials used in the development of local handicrafts. The project will involve the identification of the plants, establishing crafts material gardens and training the members on sustainable crafts production. The anticipated output is 30 material gardens at the thirty homes, skills of managing the gardens and producing and marketing the handicrafts enterprise as a business.

The project will ensure that the goal and objectives are met through the use of training, field support services to provide onsite training. The trainings to be conducted will include organic farming of these materials, marketing and product development, business management and record keeping all aimed at the women being able to earn more at lower pressure on the natural resources, when they can start harvesting from their home gardens, acquire increased knowledge on the local plants/ their environment and how to conserve them.
