This project will document temporal changes in the marine algal ecosystems of The Galápagos Marine Reserve, more specifically looking at changes in abundance and loss of certain species.
Conservation of Figs and Frugivores in Assam, India
The project will investigate the role of Ficus trees in agroecosystems as a food source for frugivores and identify threats to figs and frugivores in Assam. It will explore local perceptions and social practices relating to figs in different agroecosystems and assess the feasibility of a community-based Fig conservation programme in the region.
Conservation Assessment and Management of Globally Threatened Plant Species in Huu Lien Nature Reserve, Vietnam
The long-term aim, is to build and develop a conservation strategy for the many rare and endangered species in Huu Lien Nature Reserve and hence rescue them from extinction. There is an urgent need to perfect an applicable model of community-based conservation for endangered plants in Vietnam.

The current project proposes to further investigate the reasons for the declines seen in fruit production, experimentally test enrichment planting as a viable management option and construct a Brazil nut nursery. We also aim to perform an extensive socio-economic analysis of the harvest and trade in the study region.
