Preliminary Assessment of Population Status, Distribution and Conservation of Giant Woolly Flying Squirrel (Eupetaurus Cinereus) through Education Awareness in Upper Neelum Valley, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan
The basic objective of this project is the creation of Awareness about latest biodiversity conservation concepts, importance of high altitudinal mountain habitat in wildlife field staff, school children and local communities for batter conservation of high altitudinal mountain ecosystem and as well as woolly Flying Squirrel. Surveys reports regarding the distribution and population status of woolly Flying Squirrel (Eupetaurus cinereus) will be generated as new distribution record in the world.
Landscape Approach to Reduce Human Wildlife Conflict
The project would like to assess the human wildlife conflicts in the Tiger reserve and its neighbouring areas, to identify strategies to mitigate the problems. Landscape level analysis, field based assessment of problems, Participatory Rural Appraisal with stakeholders and spatial multi-criteria decision analyses are being planned in the proposed project.
