The project seeks to ensure the preservation of the Mediterranean tortoise (Testudo graeca) by consolidating the efforts of herpetologists, conservation biologists, government agencies, NGOs and the general public. The main aim of the project is creation of conditions for saving populations and subspecies variety of Mediterranean tortoise in the Caucasus.

This project will provide an overview of the global use of wildlife in traditional folk medicines as well as identifying and implementing the species used. The project is continuation of 1st RSG project in Mayurjharna Elephant Reserve. The project aims to enumerate elephant population, survey the identified elephant route to review the fodder status and understand the dependency of villages on that. The project aims to conserve the restored and remaining natural elephant habitat and implement scientific and traditional methods to mitigate human-elephant conflict in sample villages through interactive community awareness programme.
