identifying thresholds.
Human Influence on the Diversity and Distribution of Endemic Amphibians, on Mount Manengouba, Cameroon
This study investigates how anthropogenic activities influence the composition, distribution and status of endemic amphibians on mount Manengouba. This should set the base for monitoring program for amphibians and contribute to a sustainable land management strategy in the region.
Abundance Estimation and Habitat Use of White-Lipped Peccary and Collared Peccary in the Lacandon Rainforest, Mexico
To study the basic population ecology of peccaries in the “Montes Azules” Biosphere Reserve, obtaining information about how both species use their habitat in this area, and to estimate their relative abundance using camera trapping.
Conservation of Golden Frogs and Orphan Forests in Eastern Madagascar
This project aims to secure the threatened habitats of the Critically Endangered Golden Mantella frog ‘Mantella aurantiaca’. I will develop a monitoring protocol and engage community representatives and hope to establish a model for the conservation of other threatened amphibian species in Madagascar that have restricted ranges.
Effect of Overgrazing and Deforestation on Grey Brocket Deer Comunities in an Arid Sector of the Chaco Region in Argentina
The aim of this project is to evaluate the effects of overgrazing and deforestation in surrounding areas on the brocket population using the results obtained in the first part of this project as a reference. The results of this project will be an important contribution to the knowledge of the species’ status outside the Reserve and its role in its conservation.
