Due to Southern Yungas is an eco-region with global priority of urgent conservation. We aim to build lifelong feelings of pride, respect and membership to biodiversity using Alder Amazon as symbol species to nine local communities in the north end of this eco-region.

The proposed study will provide new insight into linkage between (1) development and use of alternative energy, (2) conservation of biodiversity, and (3) effective natural resource management policies in the communities in which it is implemented.
