As the most widespread large predator in Turkey, the wolf is one of the most important but least studied species of Turkish fauna. Wolves of Bozdag region (Central Turkey) require special attention because they coexist with and prey upon the only remaining population of the endemic Turkish mouflon as well as domestic sheep.
This project aims to gather information about predation habits of a wolf population in Bozdag. Wolves will be fitted with radio collars and tracked, wolf scats will be examined for diet composition, and depredation events will be analysed. Management approaches to reduce the conflict will be proposed for effective conservation.
