Kimboza Project 2002 will research the distribution, ecology and status of the reserve's threatened forest and endemic species. The data obtained will be used to produce conservation recommendations identifying the area as in urgent need of protection. The project will provide environmental education, initiate youth conservation clubs in schools and encourage local people nearby the forest reserve to take control of the resources management and responsibility for the safe guarding the forest reserve.

The results, recommendations and preliminary findings of the project will be presented to the Forestry and Bee keeping Division and to the National Environmental management Council (NEMC).
