Bat Research Project in Turkish Thrace

Although bat research in Turkey has been conducted since the 1950's, there is still relatively poor knowledge about bat abundance and population distribution. This project will focus in the highest area of Turkish Thrace.

The aim of this project is to reveal the current condition of steppes by analysing bird, plant and butterfly communities, together with the human use and produce conservation guidelines.

A Fish Filter and “Scare-Fish” Project for Irrigating Responsibly to Conserve the Reproduction Cycle of Endemic Fish in Cooperation with Locals in the Köprülü Kanyon National Park, Türkiye

The project’s aim is to develop a device to prevent young fish from swimming into irrigation water taken from natural streams. It is also aimed to train locals in adopting the usage and the maintenance of the device and in practicing agriculture more responsibly.
