Project Update: October 2008
The project site was surveyed from September 1-9, 2008, to evaluate the Amherstia nobilis with respect to their ecological value and population. The site is situated around the urban area of Yangon. The site comprises of native and non-native trees.
Here, this report only considers conditions at the time of inspection. New planting or falling of Amherstia nobilis would be subject to intrusive surveys of tree conditions at detailed design stage.
Regarding the survey, the total tree populations are 159. (Detail in attachment file below.) Besides, propagation of new plants and nursery has been conducted with the help and co-operation of team members and some commercial nursery farms.
To improve the local people interesting on Amherstia nobilis, we planted new 15 trees (Amherstia nobilis with age 2-3 years) at public access place on the September 10, 2008. All new plants are received from some commercial farms after public extension them.
