Project Update: December 2008

Placed below is some good news from the Garo Hillsfrom the Gongrot mining campaign. The campaign to resist mining on the periphery of Balpakram National Park has met with success, at least for the present. The mining related activities have come to a halt, though we expect that a concerted thrust will be made by the mining interests post Christmas. The anti mining forum has geared up to counter any moves to reopen mining.
