Project Update: August 2009

During the whole project period, we have implemented many activities which directly encouraged and supported the survival and conservation of Amherstia nobilis in the project site.

Activities such as publishing and extension the essential role of Amherstia nobilis in Myanmar, instillation the concepts of conservation of Amherstia nobilis to local communities, nursery caring and planting the young plants, checking and protection the planting sites have been conducted with team members and local communities.

We have known that these activities supported our project’s work, “Initiation of Community Conservation Efforts in Myanmar with Focus on Endemic Queen of Flowering Tree (Pride of Myanmar)", and the project’s aims.

On balance, we have received good results from the work of conservation of endangered Amherstia nobilis species due to cooperation of team members, participation of local communities, and in-kind support of interested persons and organizations.
