2nd RSG Grant Awarded

Training courses for ATieng commune CECN-KaTu ethnic minority.

In the second phase of this project, RSG is continuing to support the CEWG for the following activities:
• The CEWG is further trained in education techniques relevant to each department.
Teaching is focused on the ‘training of trainers’ approach so that all knowledge can be transferred from the CEWG to members of their departments and the local collaborator networks.
• Mobilse, establish and train a CEWG collaborator network in each priority district, focal communes and schools.

CEWG members will work with their district offices to establish local CE Collaborator Networks and ‘Conservation In Schools Networks’ in all forested districts, focal communes and schools. CEWG members will train and assist in implementing conservation education activities in cooperation with other district departments. In this manner, CE messages will reach the maximum number of people across all target groups.

At the same time, for CECNs to be effective they need to be provided the relevant knowledge and skills. Based on the functions and responsibilities of networks, a series of training topics have been defined. A CECN implementation guide along with CE handbooks will be developed and distributed for CECN and CISN members.
